Saturday, Dec 19, 2015 at 7 pm - Berkeley Celebration of Phil Och’s 75th Birthday! There is considerable interest in recognizing the work of American singer-songwriter Phil Ochs on the passing of his 75th birthday on or near to December 19, 2015. Events will happen on or near that date far and wide. Ochs family members will be meeting at the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Dec 19 where the Phil Ochs archives were installed earlier this year. Here in Berkeley, Vic Sadot, An "Artist Call" was issued in early autumn, and we now have a number of talented singers ready to celebrate Phil Ochs' 75th Birthday by singing his songs and tributes to him. The BFUU SJC meets on the First & Third Sundays of the month at 12:30 pm in the Fireside Room on the second floor at 1606 Bonita Ave, which is not yet wheelchair accessible.

Vic also serves as one of the rotating hosts for the Berkeley Fellowship Monthly Open Mic (BF MOM). The BF Monthly Open Mic happens on the Second Friday of Every Month. Sign-up for performers is at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7 pm. We have 20 ten minute spots available. Featured Artist are selected about two months in advance by our rotating Hosts. Somewhere between 8 and 8:30 pm the Host will call on the Featured Artist.
