Bribes

March 27, 2015

Did you know that our current election law does not require federal contractors to disclose their political contributions? That means shady military companies, in secret, can essentially bribe politicians in exchange for lucrative government contracts.

But this law can be changed easily with a stroke of President Obama’s pen. Tell President Obama to sign an executive order requiring contractors to disclose campaign contributions!

For too long, major campaign contributors have dictated our failed foreign policies. While people are killing and being killed overseas, weapon and security contractors are lining their pockets with American tax dollars. With so much money to be made, it’s no wonder the United States has been in a cycle of endless war for over a decade!

But enough is enough. The public has a right to know which companies are bribing our Congress! We've teamed up with Public Citizen and a national coalition of groups to gather 500,000 signatures to deliver to the White House on April 2. President Obama can force these contractors to disclose their political contributions — but he needs to know he has public support for it.

This law won’t solve the problem of money in politics, but it’s a good step in the direction of transparency. We hope you’ll take a moment to add your name to the list of Americans demanding greater transparency of money in politics!
